Key points
ÖGK supports workplace health promotion in Austria. Potential project funding requires separate assessment. German section 20 SGB V and the €600 tax exemption do not apply automatically to Austrian employers.

Start with advice and a needs assessment
ÖGK helps organizations plan and deliver workplace health promotion. Discuss working conditions, existing offers and employee involvement first. Build a connected project rather than buy isolated activities.

FGÖ: check current availability first
As of 22 September 2026, the Austrian Health Promotion Fund states that its general practice-oriented and workplace health promotion funding programs are temporarily closed. It lists exceptions for training, networking and the “BGF regional: Kleine Betriebe – große Wirkung” call. Check current conditions and deadlines directly with FGÖ.
Current funding status and conditions at FGÖ
Positive feedback on an idea is not a funding decision. FGÖ's overview excludes projects already started. Clarify the program, application and possible approval before relying on funding.
What an initial project outline should contain
- Starting point and specific workplace demands.
- Audience and opportunities for employee involvement.
- Planned activities and responsible contacts.
- Timeframe, costs and confirmed own resources.
- Reviewable objectives and an evaluation and continuation plan.
Bring health into everyday work
Combine organizational improvements with suitable health offers. An on-site introduction, digital follow-up and regular feedback can form a program together. Agree the relevant FIT-UP services and responsibilities in the proposal.
